Popeye’s Predators has clinched the #1 Seed.
Popeye’s Predators has clinched the Butkus Division.
Iowa Loose Ends, Sacrificial Rams
Race for #1:
Popeye’s Predators has clinched the #1 Seed.
Stydahar – The Monster Mashers and the Lumberjacks remained tied at 7-5 with a 3-2 division record, having both lost last week. The Mashers currently hold the title via Points For, but by a significantly smaller margin than last week: 9.5 points (719 to 709.5). This week the Mashers play the league’s #1 team, Popeye’s Predators, and the Lumberjacks play the Sacrificial Rams, who led the Singletary division until last week. These two games will play a pivotal role in determining who has the best chance to win this division. The Turkey Vultures are still on track to win the division, needing to win out, and for both the Mashers and Lumberjacks to lose out (they would win the tie with a 4-2 division record).
Singletary – The Iowa Loose Ends took a one game lead in the standings and in division record by defeating the Sacrificial Rams last week. The Loose Ends can clinch the division by winning their last division game against the California Quakes, but their magic number is officially 2 due to the variety of scenarios still remaining. The Loose Ends also widened their lead in Points For to 62 points (680-628). The Rams will need the Loose Ends to lose to the Quakes in Week 14 while they defeat I See Dead People. They will also need to at least match the Loose Ends’ Week 13 outcome. If the Rams do not win the division outright and end up in a tie, they will also need to overcome that 62 point deficit in Points For.
Butkus – Popeye’s Predators has clinched.
Race for the Playoffs:
#2, #3, #4, and #5 – Iowa Loose Ends at 8-4 and the 3 7-5 teams, Monster Mashers, Lumberjacks, and Sacrificial Rams, are still jockeying for these positions and the outcomes of their division races will determine much in the way of matchups. The Loose Ends have a one game lead on the others, but have a magic number of 2 to wrap up the #2 seed. The Mashers have head to head tie breakers against both the Loose Ends and Rams, while the Lumberjacks have lost to the Loose ends. The Lumberjacks matchup this week against the Rams will have a large impact on determining who ends up where.
#6 – Buffalo Bulldogs III have distanced themselves by a game over the 4 5-7 teams. They have a matchup this week with the California Quakes, and the outcome of that game will determine whether they can put themselves up with the group ahead of them, or whether they will fall back in the fray for the final two playoff spots. They also have head to head tie breakers over both of the Stydahar division leaders, should they launch themselves into the upper group.
#7 and #8 – California Quakes and Oatmeal Stoats hold these spots respectively at 5-7. Also still in the hunt are the Bayou Heat and the Turkey Vultures, also at 5-7, and I See Dead People a game back at 4-8. This race is still too murky to try to get into too much detail, as there are 8 teams left in the league that can finish at 7-7, and of those 8, 6 can do so at the same time. Here are the updated tie breakers and schedules:
Buffalo Bulldogs III currently has head to head tie breakers over I See Dead People with a split with the Stoats (PF 593-679.5 against) with a game remaining against the Quakes (13).
California Quakes currently have head to head tie breakers over I See Dead People, the Stoats, and the Heat with a game remaining against the Bulldogs (13).
Oatmeal Stoats currently have head to head tie breakers over the Vultures and Heat with a split with the Bulldogs (PF 679.5-593 in favor) with games remaining against I See Dead People (13) and the Heat (14).
Bayou Heat currently has head to head tie breakers over the Vultures and Bulldogs with a game remaining against the Stoats (14).
Turkey Vultures currently have head to head tie breakers over the Quakes and the Bulldogs.
I See Dead People currently has head to head tie breakers over the Vultures and Heat with a game remaining against the Stoats (13).
