Here is the new Perfect Season home:

Perfect Season Entry Page

From here you can see your own picks for the entire season, the weekly picks of all the players, the total scores, and a link to the page to make picks.

The scores aren't sorrted in any reasonable fashion at the moment.... trust me, if it was easy, I'd have sorted them, but that's gonna take a little work I think and I figured it wasn't that important right now.

When you make selections, the player you've already picked should have been removed from the selection lists. PLEASE let me know if thet's not the case!!!!! It worked properly on my picks, but I didn't check everyones!!

Enjoy!! And let me know if you have any problems....... I'm hoping there aren't any, but that never seems to work out! :)

PS. I've already put in the picks for week 3 that I had emails for.... if you made picks and they don't show on the week 3 list, please re-enter your picks.

PPS You can make changes to your picks up until 1 PM Sunday and they will overwrite the old ones.

Edit: Changed URL to show new framed version with NFL schedule.

Looks fantastic. I'll redirect the links from the perfect season home page tomorrow. I'll also compare everything carefully to see if I can see anything out of whack. Thanks so much!

We will have at least one person, Marilyn Cull, without a password because she doesn't have a football team. (Maybe one or two others that I can't think of.) What do they do?

The first time anyone without a password goes through the process, it'll store whatever they use for a password as their password.

This is how I set up the football stuff too, since most of the football owners didn't have passwords in the system yet. Seemed to work just fine, so I ported it over to this for just that purpose.

Any new players ( not that I expect too many at this point ) will have to be hand added to the DB before they'll show on the drop down lists.... so if you get a new one wanting to play, let me know.

Oh and scoring can be done live while I'm putting in stats during the Sunday games..... I plan on running the scoring page after the 1PM games, 4PM games etc.

Of course the official scoring won't be done until the official stats are up on Tuesday.

Here's one "quirk" I noticed -- probably not a bug, but it took me a little by surprise, and I don't know if I'm doing things right. John, maybe you can explain or make some changes for entries that aren't yet "final."

I had already picked Warner, Dawson and Denver for week three. I went on to change one of them, just to sort of test it, and the drop down menu did not include Warner, Dawson or Denver as choices for me.

This makes sense, since once I "pick" them they're removed, but let's say someone wants to change their kicker only. It looks to me like they'll have to make three entirely new picks to get the three they want made available to them again from the drop-down menus, then go back and pick again. Is that correct?

Is there a(n easy) way to make the players/teams you've picked for the upcoming games available on the drop-down menu till entries are "closed" at kickoff? If that's a lot of work, maybe we just make sure everyone knows about this "workaround."

As an aside, nobody will be picking him, I'm sure, but I noticed Anthony Dorsett available as a kicker. Smile

Yes, that's something that I hadn't really planned for, so I'll work on a way to put the current picks in as the 'selected' players.... for now you'll have to pick three different players and then go back and pick the ones you really want.

And I'm working through the LONG list of players I have, eliminating the ones that aren't on current NFL Rosters, but I haven't gotten to the kickers yet.... and there are a bunch of guys in that list that aren't even kickers, due to a bug from last year some time..... so I'm leaving the kicker list to last. I've done the QB's and TB's and FB's and TE's, all that's left is the WR's and PK's.... so pretty soon the available lists everywhere will be a lot more managable, hopefully.

Ok... I think I fixed the entry form to show the current weeks picks...

If you've previously made picks for the current week they should be the selected values in teh drop downs when the page loads.

If you haven't made picks you should see the first player in each list ( alpha sort ) when the page first loads.

This will allow you to change just one pick without having to go through a lot of extra work.

And I hope to have the scores sorted soon, too! ( I figured out an easy way while at work today... at least I think it'll be easy! Smile )

Scores are now sorted and tie-breakers are figured into the sort system.... so if you wonder why Matt is the first guy with 5 points, it's because he has 2 team picks correct.

At least I think that is first tie-breaker.... with the QB scored being second. If that's not accurate then the sort isn't accurate either! Smile

On the entry form, I do not see my prior picks. Am I supposed to?

You can look at your prior picks by clicking on your name in the standings.

They won't show up anywhere else, but those players won't show up in the drop down lists on the selection page either, so you shouldn't be able to duplicate an entry.

Ok... I found another small problem that was keeping picks from being stored in the DB... so if you think you submited picks between the posting of my message above stating that the points were sorted and the posting of this message, your picks weren't recorded in the database and need to be re-entered.

I put Steve Shiffrin's picks in, so his are now in the DB.

Sorry about that! ( I knew I should a waited until next week to fix that sorting problem!!! Smile )

John, if we go to the page and can see our week 3 picks, then they're in the DB, right?

Thanks,
Peter

Yes if they show up on the page with everyone's picks for week 3 or the page that shows all your own picks ( either one ) they are indeed in the database.

When will we be able to submit picks for Week 4

Right now, when I attempt to log in, I get:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '[' in /home/.onowasher/matt/mocksports.com/perfect_season.php on line 43
