Firesale?????? Can someone explain the rationale behind this trade other than to try to make the Wilddogs a dominant team? How is this trade even remotely fair?

I'd say it's at least remotely fair when you look at the contracts involved. Yes the dogs picked up 8 - 10 points per game on average for the rest of this season, but the players he received aren't eligible to be frozen next season, while all three that he traded away are freeze possibilities and two of them still have upside potential.

Yes it's a fire sale..... they happen.

Fine. But then you make the trade at the end of the season if it is for the purpose of freezing players not with 8 games still to go. I'm on record as saying it is bad for the integrity of the league because with the way the scoring occurs in this league 8-10 points a game is enormous.

So you are saying that at the end of the season you think someone would agree to this trade?

I understand where you are coming from, really I do. And we'll just have to wait and see what transpires, because if the unfreezeable players all tank in week one of the playoffs, it won't have affected thing much at all..... and that is just as likely to happen as it is that they will be the saviors for that team and take them to a championship.

Quite frankly I don't want to get into the position of being the judge of the fairness of trades. Different people have different judgements of players, thus making my opinion only one of many possible opinions. If enough owners from a league complain about a trade, then it'll be reviewed.

I know you can't deny a trade. I'm just calling a duck a duck is all. There is no way anyone can say that trade is even close to a fair trade. Like you said we'll just have to let it play out.
