Even though most of the questions about real baseball have been answered - at least those about who will play more than 162 games - you can still follow some pennant races...here on Mocksports.
Through games of September 23, these are the point margins by which our leagues are being led:
BANKS - 3.5
BERRA - 6.0
CLEMENTE - 5.0 (this one was a runaway most of the season)
GIBSON - 10.0
SNIDER - 1.0
UECKER - 3.5
BELL - 0.0 (that would be a tie)
BOB - 2.0
FELLER - 2.0
ROBINSON - 9.5
SPARKY - 23.5
That last one is NOT a typo. Spears' Carriers is leading Sparky by twenty-three and a half points and without most of the players you would assume such a dominant team would have. (No Trout, no Cabrera, no Abreu, etc.) The last-place team in Banks has a total of 24.5 points; the last-place team in Bell has less than 20 points. I guess we can say that Randy did a pretty good job of putting a team together this year! _________________

Thanks for the compliment. I'd love to say it was all skill, but as usual, luck played a big hand. Nelson Cruz was 3rd on my depth chart in terms of an available player and since Abreu and Beltran went before my pick, Cruz fell to me. That he had a career year was a bit fluky.
I just went with my strategy of don't overpay on players and get guys who play everyday. Plus watch the closer landscape. When Hunter lost the job as closer in Baltimore, I was ready to swoop in for Britton.
I followed races across Mocksports this year and it was an exciting finish. I think Uecker came down to the final day. That had to be a real nail biter.
