2018 Trade Deadline - NL additions

Postby Crosley » Tue Jul 31, 2018 9:59 pm

An unusual number of trades were completed in the last three days. Here's a thumbnail sketch of who went where (including only players with major league experience who are changing leagues):

NL leagues - Effective date of July 31
    Arizona
    LHP Jake Diekman

    Atlanta
    RHP Kevin Gausman
    RHP Darren O'Day

    Los Angeles
    2B Brian Dozier
    RHP John Axford

    Miami
    OF Justin Williams

    Milwaukee
    2B Jonathan Schoop

    Philadelphia
    LHP Aaron Loup
    C Wilson Ramos

    Pittsburgh
    RHP Chris Archer
    RHP Keone Kela

NL leagues - Effective date of July 29
    Atlanta
    RHP Brad Brach

In addition, these minor leaguers were added to the indicated team's organization (which may be of interest for late-season trades or for making room on your AL team's minor league roster prior to the 2019 MiLB draft:

CARDINALS add OF Conner Capel and OF Jhon Torres
CARDINALS add IF Bryson Brigman
MARLINS add LHP Genesis Cabrera and RHP Roel Ramirez

It should be noted that Wilson Ramos is currently on the DL so is not eligible for FAAB bidding until he is activated. The same is true of Darren O'Day, who is not expected to return this year.

Thanks, Geoff. I didn't do the deep background on these guys, so that's good information.
