Postby scottspears » Mon Oct 02, 2017 10:22 am

For the Cinema Sluggers I could list my entire team, especially my pitching staff which finished dead last.

My value players: Mitch Moreland $3: 22 HRs and 79 RBIS & Brian Bach $1: 18 Saves

My busts: Ian Kennedy $13: 5 wins and ERA 5.15 and JD Martinez was traded away costing me 24 HRs.

$1 wonder: Brian Bach

See ya next year.

I became a surprise owner of a team in the league and was even more surprised when my team outperformed my expectations. I was almost competitive, but as it turned out, my players played above their heads at the beginning of the season and, as if they woke and realized it, fell back to their expected performance levels.

I traded away my value player: Corey Dickerson, but did get decent numbers from a $1 Charlie Morton. Andrelton Simmons ($4) was a surprise, too.

My bust player was a $34 Miguel Cabrera. Who saw that coming?

A couple of $1 bargains, Maybin (33 SB although not much else) and Morrison (36 HR, 85 RBI). Given where I finished in the standings plenty of disappointments led by Rick Porcello (way to follow up that Cy Young year) and Alcides Escobar (only 4 SB, that happens when you can't get on base in the first place). Given the amount of turnover on my team during the year hopefully I have a number of $1 freezes for next year.
