BELL AL Transactions: WEEK 17 (Effective 7/24 - 7/30)

I just took a look at MLBRosterMoves on Twitter and I think it will be VERY difficult to use for the average owner, as there is no way to view all of the individual tweets as a single list. Looking at the individual tweets is very tedious and almost guarantees that something will be missed. And not everyone on Mocksports is guaranteed to be Twitter-fluent.

It seems like our options right now would be status quo (I.e., OnRoto, which has worked okay for the past several years, but has its problems), mlb.com (which is, after all, the source for most of the other sites online that provide transaction info, but also has its problems), or an option I hate to even bring up, because I think I know who will be foolish enough to volunteer - do we need to consider reinstating the original function of the Realist position? The current rules have been revised to basically give the Realist responsibility only for AVL lists, but up until 5-6 years ago, that person updated the Reals manually. Returning to that model would allow the use of multiple sources for transactions, which should reduce some of the problems that OnRoto periodically introduces.

Yes, you can call me crazy.

For what it's worth, Nunez's activation on 7/28 ONLY appears on MLB.com. It is not on OnRoto's transaction list for that date; only the trade on 7/26 is listed there. (MLB.com lists both the trade and the activation.) The problem with keying on the activation date is that there are many cases where either there is no separate activation or it is not reported online.
